There’s nothing like summer in the Smokies! All summer long, both Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are bustling with music, food and art festivals for nonstop Smoky Mountain fun. Here are some of the upcoming 2019 Smoky Mountain events and festivals you don’t want to miss this summer.

29th Annual Patriot Festival – July 4th

The Annual Patriot Festival is one of the most exciting Fourth of July celebrations in the Smokies! The Patriot Festival is a part of how we show our American pride. Bring the blankets and the lawn chairs to enjoy free concerts, delicious food vendors and a free kids’ carnival at Patriot Park. Of course, there’s a spectacular fireworks display to be enjoyed by all. Even better, part of the proceeds from food sales is donated to local charities. This Pigeon Forge event is a great way to celebrate this beautiful country with your family while giving back to the local community.

Tennessee Smokies Beer Fest – August 3rd

Taste the magic of Appalachia at one of the most fun festivals for adults of the summer. The Tennessee Smokies BeerFest celebrates beers of the region. Enjoy tastings from over thirty different breweries, including drink tickets for Old Forge Distillery. This is a dog-friendly event at the Smokies Stadium. VIP tickets will get you early access and a buffet dinner. Stay safe and make sure to also secure a designated driver, as they offer “designated driver” tickets, or take advantage of the FREE shuttle from Knoxville! Those using the free shuttle service are automatically entered to win a pair of tickets to the Knoxville Brewers’ Jam on November 2nd.

Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival – August 17th

Witness the mountains like never before! Imagine a dozen hot air balloons glowing in the dusk with the breathtaking Smoky Mountains as their backdrop. There will be plenty of family-friendly activities occurring at The Great Smoky Mountains Hot Air Balloon Festival, including beer and wine tastings, craft vendors and demonstrations, food trucks and live entertainment. This festival takes place at the Townsend Visitor Center from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. Don’t miss it!

Rock the Smokies Christian Music Festival – August 24th

A day-long Smoky Mountain event at Dollywood Theme Park,  Rock the Smokies is a Christian Music festival in its 5th year and is an incredibly spiritual experience. Headliners this year include for KING & COUNTRY and Zach Williams. This is a great chance to rock out Dollywood-style while also taking advantage of the exciting thrill rides, and crafts in the amusement park. Combo and group tickets are available. All Rock the Smokies tickets include admission to Dollywood.
