Pancake Pantry – A Gatlinburg Tradition for Breakfast and Lunch Since 1960!

Description

In 1960 owners Jim and June Gerding decided to take the entrepreneurial leap to open Tennessee’s first pancake specialty restaurant. The Pancake Pantry! As with any new business, there were early struggles. Because this was a new restaurant concept back in 1960. Thankfully, after a lot of hard work, success did arrive. In 1965 they were able to purchase the land and building. Then in 1975 their signature building with its majestic slate roof, gables, large windows, and warm white oak interior. All were constructed under Jim’s vision and direction.

Over the last half-century, we continued to learn and innovate. Because of this, visitors to Gatlinburg have made dining with us a tradition. They are offered unique dishes, specials to tempt the palate, and fast, efficient service to accompany the delicious food.

What keeps them coming back? It’s the real butter, the honest-to-goodness fresh whipped cream, and everything made from scratch. And it’s also the warm atmosphere of century-old brick, rich oak, and rustic copper.

For breakfast, we offer 24 various kinds of pancakes. Also a wide variety of waffles. And farm fresh eggs, sizzling ham, bacon, or country sausage, golden butter-fried hash brown potatoes, and so much more. Naturally, we use only fresh ingredients in all of our batters. Additionally, we make all of our syrups and compotes in-house.

Not to mention lunch, our Gourmet Sandwiches draw inspiration from all over the world. Order the Dutch Diplomat and experience an award-winning taste sensation. With special trimmings atop ham, Swiss cheese, and turkey on three decks of rye. On the other hand, perhaps you’d prefer one of the unusual options like the Polish Aristocrat, Polynesian Delight, or British Dipper. Equally important, all of the salad dressings and soups are homemade.

Becoming a tradition requires a special quality. A commitment to excellence. And a willingness to experiment. Test and develop new dishes for your pleasure. And delight while retaining the favorites from years past.

Whether you join us for an early breakfast. Midday brunch, or afternoon snack. Your visits will be enhanced by fast courteous service and delicious food, all at a reasonable price.
