SGMA Museum & Hall of Fame

SGMA Museum & Hall of Fame

Formerly located at Dollywood, the Southern Gospel Music Association is moving to Biblical Times Theater. The SGMA operates to preserve the spirit and heritage of gospel music, which is native to the Smokies, and to promote its modern industry professionals and early pioneers. While the Museum tells the fascinating history of gospel music from humble beginnings through today, the Hall of Fame commemorates the most notable gospel music professionals of all time with honorary plaques.

While the Museum is currently not yet open, mark your calendar for their grand re-opening date on September 9, 2022. Once they’re back in full swing, arrive early to your Biblical Times Theater dinner show or gospel concert. You’ll want plenty of time to enjoy the exhibits and pay respects to those who have given the gift of beautiful Christian music.

Christ in the Smokies is also returning soon to Pigeon Forge’s Grand Smokies Themeplex. Once reinstalled in the new location, this inspirational attraction will feature over 100 life-sized wax figures of Jesus, the apostles, and many other religious personages. As you take a self-guided tour of the museum, you’ll learn about the life of Jesus Christ through 3D scenes set to lighting, special effects, and narration. The museum will also contain artifacts from the Biblical era, such as coins, temple vestments, and a 900-square-foot mural. Stay tuned for the Christ in the Smokies reopening date!

  1. I will be on my Christian Music Tour July 3rd through July 18th playing original and cover worship tunes in Baltimore, MD Roanoke, VA Ashville, NC and Columbus, OH before finalizing the tour in Macomb, Mich.

    I’ll be passing through the Gatlinburg area between July 9th and 14th and looking for a Christian Coffeehouse or Wednesday evening Bible Study or service who would like to add some worship music. 🙏
