Community

The Great Smokies Flea Market is situated in a community of God-fearing and neighborly people, and its owners and staff consider themselves fortunate to call this place home. The market offers early Sunday Church Services to vendors, staff, and visitors through its Ministries program, which also accepts clothing, food, household goods, and monetary donations for families in need.

The success of the program owes much to Pastor Krista Atchley and the generosity of the vendors, who have helped impoverished families and children in various ways over the years, including providing Halloween decorations and treats, Angel Tree Christmas Gifts, and donations to local charities and events. Fundraising efforts for organizations such as the Salvation Army, local Fire and Police Departments, and youth groups also take place regularly at the market, and visitors have been known to be generous. Therefore, we take great pride in welcoming you to our southern mountain community.

Great Smokies Flea Market History

Family owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Atchley, and their children Chuck and Krista Atchley, since 1990, The Great Smokies Flea Market began as a small flea market nestled within the Kodak Mountain foothills of Sevierville, TN. Over the years, it has blossomed into the giant flea market for which it is known today.

Over 15 years ago, in 2004, the Great Smokies Flea Market was “made famous in some circles,” according to Sevier County’s local newspaper, The Mountain Press, when they were featured on Turner South’s program “Junkin” – the early leading authority on flea markets in the United States. The unbiased program promoted the market as one of the best flea markets in the country. The Great Smokies Flea Market continues to be one of the best places in America to enjoy a family outing.

Including some holidays except for Christmas.
