Captain Jim’s Seafood Buffet – Captain Jim, also known as Li’l Jimmy, left Manitowoc, Wisconsin, with a shipment of cheese headed for the east coast many years ago, during the era of black and white television. Originally, that was the goal, but things didn’t exactly work out that way. The North Star was a rusty outdated bucket with numerous mechanical issues.

Breakdown after breakdown Jimmy mastered the art of making the best clam chowder, blue crab in Maryland, and cured honey-glazed ham in Virginia. He discovered perfectly fried chicken and calabash shrimp in the Carolinas. In Florida, he acquired the skills necessary to make grouper taste, well, great. With his cooking techniques, all turned out to be elegant masterpieces.

After many more adventures even across the Mediterranean, he fulfilled a long-held dream of his by starting a seafood buffet. He also desired a location where his clients would be welcomed like guests in his own home.
