The Swamp Park

The Shallotte River Swamp Park is a nature-focused eco-park with a zipline canopy course. A tree-top aerial challenge course. And a self-guided educational nature trail. Additionally, there is a guided swamp buggy tour that travels the entirety of the property. The goal is to provide an educational experience and highlight the park’s plant and animal life.

When the owner became frustrated during the creation of the park, his wife gave him the motivation to keep going. She explained, “We grew up outside in the natural environment when we were young. Our neighborhood, the forests, the creeks, and more were all ours to explore at will. We took advantage of everything that nature had to offer. And as a result, we developed an appreciation and respect for our surroundings.”

Shallotte River Swamp Park offers the opportunity to not only make lifelong memories. But also to take in the breathtaking splendor of the Carolinas’ natural world. Kids will have a chance to hopefully gain the respect that nature so richly deserves as a result.

While at the park you have the opportunity to enjoy three different types of adventures. First, the zipline trips take you far above the park, giving tourists a chance to see the swamp below from a unique vantage point and the possibility to see species like wild boar, owls, raccoons, turkeys, and deer.

Then while at the Aerial Adventure park, people ages 4 and up can experience the excitement of the captivating ropes course that offers three distinct levels of difficulty.

Meanwhile, visitors to Swamp Boat Eco-Tours can take a break from their perch in the trees and experience the swamps from what they refer to as a “frog’s-eye view.” Visitors can enjoy a comfortable ride through the Shallotte River Swamp while learning about the history and nature of the area.
