Sea Captain’s House

The Sea Captain’s House in Myrtle Beach has been a popular destination for tourists and locals for more than 50 years.

The restaurant was originally built as a vacation home by Henry Taylor in 1930. Sold in the 1940s. Then struck and damaged by Hurricane Hazel in 1954. After changing hands a couple more times, the Brittain family took over in 1962. Due to finances, it was easier for them to create the Sea Captain’s House out of the old guest house.

Since that time, the restaurant has been offering up fresh seafood along with the beloved southern hospitality and amazing views.

Visitors love the Sea Captain’s House because of the casual, nautical design and the beautiful ocean views! The Blue Room, The Chart Room, The Red Room, The Sun Room, and a recently constructed outside deck are just a few of the eating spaces to be enjoyed.

Boat-to-table fresh seafood delicacies including classic Shrimp and Grits, Pecan Crusted Grouper, and Captain’s Seafood Muddle with a little bit of everything are the major focus of the menu. There are several options available for those who like eating on land. Including Chicken Marsala, Filet Mignon, and regional Fried Green Tomatoes.

The Myrtle Beach Herald Readers’ Choice Awards, Best of the Beach by The Sun News, and Diners’ Choice from OpenTable.com, among other publications, have recognized Sea Captain’s House.
