Dave & Buster’s

Buster launched a restaurant in the late 1970s that became well-known for its delicious food and friendly staff. Dave built an outlandish entertainment and gaming spot a few doors away, drawing adults there for a fun time. People were passing between the two young business owners’ locations, and an idea began to form. As a result, they combined their businesses, and Dave & Buster’s was born.

The two young men went to Dallas’ “Restaurant Row,” where they discovered a vacant warehouse with 40,000 square feet. Dave and Buster jumped right into the building after being labeled as certifiably crazy by many in the restaurant business. In December 1982, they opened the first Dave & Buster’s, with Dave’s name being first since he won a coin toss.
