Celebrate the Gatlinburg 4th of July in 2025 with hometown charm, big-time fireworks, and events that stretch from midnight to nightfall. Whether you\u2019re a first-timer or a seasoned visitor, this year promises something extra special\u2014including the 50th anniversary of one of the most unique parades in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gatlinburg 4th of July Parade<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This year marks a milestone\u2014the 50th Annual Gatlinburg 4th of July Midnight Parade<\/a>! The celebration kicks off the moment the clock strikes midnight. At 12:01 a.m. on Friday, July 4th, the parade steps off, following Gatlinburg\u2019s Parkway from Baskins Creek Bypass to Traffic Light #10. As the first Independence Day parade in the nation each year, this iconic event has earned national recognition, including a spot on National Geographic Traveler\u2019s list of the ‘Top Ten Parades in the U.S.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over 80,000 spectators line the Parkway, so if you want a great view, plan to arrive around 8\u201310 p.m. on July 3rd. Good spots can be found between traffic lights #3 and #5. For parking, try the garages near Ripley\u2019s Aquarium, McMahan Parking Garage, or one of the many downtown lots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

River Raft Regatta<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Set against the backdrop of Gatlinburg\u2019s Fourth of July festivities, the River Raft Regatta<\/a> is one of the summer’s most spirited\u2014and splashiest\u2014events of the summer. This annual race of unmanned floatables down the Little Pigeon River is open to all ages and offers a mix of fun, whimsy, and light-hearted competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants will begin registering their floatables at 11 a.m. on July 4th at the Edgewater Hotel & Conference Center. The race officially kicks off at 1 p.m., with floatables making their way downstream to the finish line at Ripley\u2019s Aquarium of the Smokies plaza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can bring your own creatively decorated boat or enter a rented rubber duck into the race\u2014available for $2 each or 3 for $5 onsite. Trophies will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Treasure, Duck, and Most Creative Float categories. All proceeds benefit the Gatlinburg Chamber Foundation, making this a feel-good way to join the celebration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gatlinburg 4th of July Fireworks<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As the sun sets, the party really heats up with spectacular fireworks and a drone show<\/a>. At 9:50 p.m., more than 200 synchronized drones will light the sky over the Gatlinburg Convention Center. Then at 10:00 p.m., fireworks launch from the top of the Space Needle for a grand finale you won\u2019t forget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t forget, the best viewing spots are between traffic lights #3 and #5. For an unforgettable vantage point, grab VIP tickets to the Gatlinburg SkyPark experience<\/a>, which includes live music and breathtaking mountain views as the sky lights up. Nashville artists Taylor Teasley and Tori Hughes will perform from 7 to 10 p.m., and VIP guests receive after-hours access to popular Gatlinburg SkyPark<\/a> attractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4th of July in Gatlinburg 2025: What\u2019s New<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Midnight Parade, and the town is going all out. Expect commemorative floats, historical tributes, and a focus on veterans. The drone and fireworks combo is back by popular demand, and the Gatlinburg SkyPark is expanding its live music offerings with a lineup of Nashville performers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
