Are you considering a visit to the Smokies as part of a spring break that lines up with Easter? Perhaps you\u2019re planning a long weekend getaway over Easter weekend. In either case, the Smoky Mountains have plenty of fun-filled activities for the Easter season. We’ve highlighted four family-oriented activities for you to consider during the Easter celebration in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge this year.<\/p>\n

1. Ober Gatlinburg Sunrise Service<\/h2>\n

What is Easter without a beautiful sunrise service overlooking the mountains? Ober Gatlinburg offers its Annual Easter Sunrise Service outdoors at 6:30 a.m. on April 16, 2017. Their Aerial Tramway provides round-trip transportation for free for service attendees. Each tram car can hold 120 passengers and each way is a 2.1 mile ride. Seasons of Ober Restaurant offers a breakfast buffet following the service from 7:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Ages 4 and under are free.<\/p>\n

2. Easter Egg Hunt<\/h2>\n

If you have kids, then the Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Gatlinburg at Mynatt Park, hosted by the Gatlinburg Community Police Programs<\/a>, may be the perfect spot to take them (and their baskets). In advance of Easter, the egg hunt will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, and is for ages 0\u201312. There is a lunch provided at noon. The Gatlinburg Community Police Programs is a local non-profit that provides activities for the community and visitors and was founded by the Gatlinburg Community Police Department employees.<\/p>\n

3. Breakfast or Brunch with the Easter Bunny<\/h2>\n

Reservations begin in the middle of March for the 7th Annual Breakfast or Brunch with the Easter Bunny<\/a> in Pigeon Forge. On April 15th, you’ll enjoy a great meal at The Old Mill Pottery House Caf\u00e9 & Grille and be able to visit the Easter Bunny, too! Afterward, take a stroll around The Old Mill Square for shopping, and check out The Old Mill, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Did you know that until 1935, the community of Pigeon Forge was powered by electricity generated at The Old Mill?<\/p>\n

4. Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show<\/h2>\n

Speaking of shopping, Gatlinburg will hold its annual Great Smoky Easter Arts & Crafts Show April 12th through the 15th from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily, just after their “Hands-On Gatlinburg” event. The handmade products are produced by members of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community and give you a preview of what they offer in their shops. Live demonstrations are also held as part of the show.<\/p>\n
