Planning a weekend in Gatlinburg should, by all means, include both food and fun! So we put together a handy itinerary for you to use as a guide for Saturday. We have activities segmented between the southern part of Gatlinburg and the northern part, from the US-321 split. One set may be more convenient depending on where you\u2019re staying.<\/p>\n

Southern Gatlinburg<\/h2>\n

Morning<\/h3>\n

Wake up and enjoy the smell of hot and homemade pancakes as you sit at the Pancake Pantry<\/a> in The Village for breakfast. They\u2019ve been serving up delicious meals since 1960 when they become the first pancake house to hit Tennessee. If you like to wake up a bit later, that\u2019s fine by them\u2014they serve up breakfast all day! They\u2019re open to 4 p.m. in the months of June through October and until 3 p.m. the rest of the year. After you\u2019re finished, walk some of your breakfast off by visiting some of the 27 shops and boutiques in The Village.<\/p>\n

Afternoon<\/h3>\n

Get ready for some fun as you walk a few blocks down the street to Fannie Farkle\u2019s<\/a>. If you have the munchies from being between breakfast and lunch, enjoy some of their famous fresh-dipped corn dogs or a classic sausage sub. Is your mouth watering now? They also have Tennessee sweet tea and fresh lemonade to satisfy any thirst.<\/p>\n

Grab a game card at the Fannie Farkle\u2019s arcade. It\u2019s fast and easy and eco-friendly. Best of all, you can redeem the points you earn for awesome prizes\u2014everything from a PS4 to a bike! Plus, your points don\u2019t expire, so you can come back again to load up on even more points on your next visit.<\/p>\n

Evening<\/h3>\n

Grab dinner at No Way Jose\u2019s Cantina<\/a> for some authentic Mexican food using recipes discovered off the coast of Baja. They even have a gluten-free menu for those with dietary restrictions. If you\u2019re in the mood for something less ethnic, try Bubba Gump Shrimp Co<\/a>. for hearty seafood selections. They also have a gluten-free menu. Certain specialty drinks also come with a souvenir glass you can take home.<\/p>\n

Northern Gatlinburg<\/h2>\n

Morning<\/h3>\n

Enjoy a hearty pancake breakfast at Flapjack\u2019s Pancake Cabin<\/a>. If you have a large family or are with a group, they have family-style seating in the center of the cabin.<\/p>\n

Before you head to your car, check out the Salt and Pepper Shaker Museum<\/a>, which is right next door at Winery Square. You know you\u2019ll want to say you\u2019ve been here as it\u2019s the only one of its kind in the world (besides its sister museum in Spain). They have over 20,000 sets of salt and pepper shakers that started as a fun hobby for Rolf, Andrea, and Alex. If you\u2019re not sure you\u2019d be interested in going, check out their Virtual Tour<\/a>, hosted by Google. It might change your mind. The admission to view the displays can be used toward the purchase of a salt and pepper shaker set (kids 12 and under are free).<\/p>\n

Afternoon<\/h3>\n

\"Alamo<\/p>\n

Travel farther up East Parkway and visit the Alamo<\/a> for delicious oak-grilled steaks and fish. They have a superb lunch menu (Chef\u2019s Selections) that is served with French fries or mashed potatoes and broccoli or green beans. Don\u2019t forget to try the Alamo specialty\u2014Alamo Potatoes. They are sliced potatoes that have been deep-fried with peppers and onions and topped with a secret seasoning.<\/p>\n
