Summertime is upon us, and even though the mountains keep us cool, it does tend to get a little hot down here in the Smokies. Luckily, there are some creative ways to keep cool during your Smoky Mountain vacation. Here are some of our favorite ways to cool off in the Smokies!
Get Wet & Wild
The most beautiful views of the mountains can also be seen from the Pigeon River! What better way to cool off than splashing down the river through class III-IV rapids with Big Creek Expeditions experienced tour guides? First time rafting? No need to worry. The guides are there to keep you safe and of course, show you an amazing time! Whole-day and half-day excursions are available, so you’ll definitely cooldown on this adventure while creating lifelong memories this summer.
Zip Through the Trees
Of course, you can cool off with an exhilarating rafting adventure at Rafting in the Smokies, but don’t forget all of the other great options there. Let the wind above the canopy cool you down as you zip through the trees. With six zipline courses and over 2,400 feet of cables, this is one of the most exciting excursions in the Smoky Mountains. Escape to the wilderness and experience the rope courses, whitewater rafting, scenic family float trips, ziplining, and rock climbing at Rafting in the Smokies!
Make a Splash at Dollywood’s Splash Country
With over 35 acres of water attractions, shopping, restaurants and more, Dollywood’s Splash Country is one of the most entertaining ways to keep cool in the Smokies! There is something for everyone here, whether you’re looking to relax in the pool or experience thrill rides like the TailSpin Racer. You’ll always beat the heat at Dollywood’s Splash Country, one of the most exciting Pigeon Forge water parks!
Relax and Float
What better way to truly enjoy the scenery around you than a smooth, slow float down the river? Soak up the sun and bob down the Little Pigeon River, which is a fun and relaxing experience for all ages. There are many outposts for tubing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park area, so you can choose the best one for you. Nature is the most beautiful Smoky Mountain water park there is!
