Leconte Center at Pigeon Forge

Haven’t heard about the latest major festival to come to the Smokies? Well now is as good a time as ever to get you up to speed with this family-friendly event that will be held from August 10 through the 12th at LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge.

People

Big names in music, television, and sports will be making their way to Pigeon Forge like Burt Reynolds, “Dog” the Bounty Hunter, Kane, Richard Petty, and David Ellefson. Not only will they be entertaining the crowd, but they will be available for autographs and photo opportunities for an added fee. Tickets for the event and photo/autograph opportunities are available through the website. Kids age five and under are free with a paid adult ticket, and they will have opportunities to get FREE autographs of their own in the Kids Zone!

Lodging

BubbaFest! is partnering with area hotels, so you can get a free shuttle to the convention center if you stay with one of them. These include the RiverStone Resort & Spa, Park Tower Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, Courtyard by Marriott, and more listed on the website. Best of all, they guarantee that if you book through Bubba Fest!, you will receive the lowest available rate.

Contests

If you are looking at more things to do besides checking out exhibits and getting to know the celebrities, check out the contents and other events happening at the event. There will be a “Baddest Bike” contest for ticket holders, a celebrity look-alike contest and “Tricked-Out Truck” contest for 3-day pass holders (with cash awards!), and a farmer’s tan competition. The farmer’s tan competition winner will receive a free vacation package to Myrtle Beach. Hey, you’re already in the Smokies, so they have to come up with a second best vacation spot.

Exhibits

Check out Petty’s Garage and the Richard Petty Museum Exhibits while you’re at the festival. They will have historical vehicles and the original race car from the Richard Petty Museum. If you’re there on August 11, you can spend a little more for an autograph and photo session with the “King of NASCAR” of American stock car racing. Local vendor Iron Mountain Metal Craft will be exhibiting, with appearances from Robby Bowman (a contestant on Forged in Fire) and a selection of hand-forged products for sale. David Ellefson is showcasing his own hand-packaged coffee line as well.

Activities

Yes, there is even more to do! If you have kids, you might want to check out the Kids Zone. Two cast members from Pirates of the Caribbean and Power Rangers will be available all three days of the event to sign autographs for kids 12 and under. Some of these actors will also host special events for kids, like the free screening for all attendees on Sunday of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
