RainForest Adventures

Located in the heart of the beautiful Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, near both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. RainForest Adventures Zoo is open year-round with lots of things to see and do!

RainForest Adventures Zoo is home to hundreds of tropical and temperate animals. Our focus is primarily on the animals you are likely to see on Animal Planet, Discover Channel, or other similar nature shows.

The majority of the animals at RainForest Adventures Zoo have been born, or hatched in captivity. We have animals on loan from zoos all across the U.S., primarily for education. So, while visiting Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg take a break and come and meet our family of zoo animals!

African crested porcupines, kinkajous, and African serval cats. Several kinds of lemurs, hedgehogs, and Egyptian spiny mice. Those are only some of the mammals that live in the zoo. Along with the animals, you’ll also see a variety of rainforest insects and spiders. As well as reptiles like turtles and tortoises, snakes, lizards, and crocodiles.

Tropical and temperate bird species are particularly loved by visitors. Cockatoos, macaws, parrots, finches, parakeets, and cockatiels are a few examples.

The Education Department of RainForest Adventures Zoo is committed to helping students of all ages. Not only to develop caring attitudes towards nature and the many wonders it contains. But also to create a sense of appreciation.

An array of activities are available to help visitors engage with wildlife, such as hands-on feeding opportunities. There are also friendly, pet-able creatures throughout the grounds.

During the animal show, expertly-trained animal handlers showcase a wide range of species. Providing viewers with an entertaining experience that includes jokes and some magical surprises.
